The AbilityPLUS Mission
To offer increased access to athletic and recreational opportunities for persons with physical and/or cognitive disabilities that will create freedom, promote independence, support inclusion and help those individuals and their families discover their full social, mental and athletic potential.
AbilityPLUS Adaptive Sports was founded in 1997 by a small group of volunteers who were inspired by the awesome achievements of the participants of all ages with physical or developmental disabilities.
Today, with the help of our partner programs and hundreds of volunteers, we have provided thousands of adaptive sports lessons for people with disabilities who, along with their families and friends have experienced the joy of inclusion in mainstream recreational activities. AbilityPLUS and each of our Affiliate Programs are open to everyone. We teach and work with people regardless of their age or disability.
The joy, pride and self-respect that our participants feel radiate outward, and touch not only the staff and volunteers, but families and the community at large. The determination, satisfaction, and success that one experiences from AbilityPLUS opportunities eradicate the preconceived notions regarding the limitations of people with disabilities.
This leads to a change in attitudes and perceptions, as people see and respect one another for their character and tenacity, not for their external constraints.
AbilityPLUS serves a diverse population of individuals, from people with severe physical disabilities to people with autism, across the spectrum. Since our founding in 1997, programs have grown from working with a handful of families and individuals to serving more than 2,500 each year. We have adaptive ski programs that operate out of Mount Snow, Vermont; Attitash, New Hampshire; and Wildcat, New Hampshire, with partnership and affiliate programs throughout New England. Only limited resources prevent AbilityPLUS Adaptive Sports from helping thousands more.

The demand for services provided by AbilityPLUS is growing rapidly, as awareness increases, and more people with autism, returning injured war veterans, and people with all manner of disability learn of the benefits of participation in adaptive sports. AbilityPLUS™ is a leader in the adaptive sports world, with offices and installations at resorts and venues throughout New England, serving the entire Northeast. We'll be opening more opportunities for more people in the coming months and years.
