2011 Annual Appeal Letter from the Executive Director

Dear Friend of AbilityPLUS,

Greetings, and thank-you for your support of AbilityPLUS Adaptive Sports. Your support has enabled us to serve thousands of physically and/or cognitively disabled participants of all ages, from injured service-members to people with autism across the spectrum.

Thanks to your ongoing support and generosity, our talented staff and volunteers are being readied for another exciting season on the snow. AbilityPLUS provides access, creates freedom, promotes independence, and supports inclusion for people with all manner of disability through sports and recreation throughout the Northeast, and has done so for more than 15 years.

AbilityPLUS maintains year-'round adaptive sports & recreation programs, and your annual donation is an invaluable gift that provides opportunities to so many who are not able to enjoy the experience of mainstream sports and recreation. Whether you have personally experienced the compassionate care of our staff and volunteers, or simply believe in the important role our organization plays in supporting the disabled community, we hope we can count on your continued support.

Your gift is extremely important to AbilityPLUS. It provides financial resources to supply quality training programs, increase scholarship availability and outreach, and purchase specialized equipment so that we are prepared and able to offer the finest experience to those we serve whether they are visually, physically or cognitively disabled.

This year's rising facility costs, stressed economy and a downward trend in giving has led us to try some new ways to increase support, and to thank those who give. For this year's Annual Appeal giving you may, as in the past, write and mail a check, or make a secure online donation. But we've got a new way to give to the AbilityPLUS Annual Appeal: enter our Windy City Raffle. All proceeds from raffle ticket purchases benefit AbilityPLUS. The Grand Prize is a weekend getaway for two (2) to Chicago with an evening dinner cruise on beautiful Lake Michigan aboard the Odyssey, airfare for two (up to $300.00 per person) and accommodations at a private downtown luxury condo. Raffle tickets are $25.00 each or five (5) for $100.00. Purchase tickets for yourself, friends, and family (or tell your friends and family to purchase tickets too!). Drawing will be at noon on January 1, 2012.
